Printing
Q: I don't have Acrobat Reader on my computer. Where can I get it?A: Windows 98 users can
Download and Install Acrobat Reader 5.0 from here.
Windows 2000 and XP users can
Download and Install Acrobat Reader 7.0 from here.
Q: I am at my School and trying to install Adobe Acrobat Reader. My computer says I do you have permission to install the application. What's Wrong?A: The security rights your school network administrator has set up prevents you from installing applications. You will need to contact him/her to install Adobe Acrobat for you.
Q: When I try to print a report card using Internet Explorer, I see an hourglass and the report never loads. What's wrong?A: The first thing you need to check is if you Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed properly. If you are a Windows User, Go to your Start Menu, All Programs, and Click the Adobe Reader Icon.
If you see an error message such as a Dr Watson Error or a Page Fault Error, your Acrobat Reader installation is corrupted. You will need to uninstall your existing copy of Acrobat Reader, reboot your computer, then install a fresh copy.
We recommend that if you are running
Windows 98, you should install Acrobat Reader 5.0, which can be
downloaded here. We have seen issues with running Acrobat Reader 6.0 on Windows 98.
Windows 2000 and XP users will get the best results using Acrobat Reader 7.0 or higher which can be
downloaded here.
Q: When I print my homeroom report cards, I don't see the teacher comments from the Previous 9 Weeks. What's Wrong?A: The report card only shows teacher comments for the Current 9 Week Grading Period. The comments from previous 9 weeks are still stored in the system.
Grading
Q: I am using the Report Card Grading screens from home and it is running very slow. What is the problem?
A: To use the report card application, you need to have a broadband connection to the internet. The best two options would be either a DSL Modem or a Cable Modem. Contact your local phone or Cable TV provider for pricing and availability.
Q: When I am using the "End of 9 Weeks" Grading Screen, I don't see any boxes where I can enter grades. What's wrong?A: Any time you do not see boxes in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th nine weeks columns, that means either the class you have selected does not allow grading, or the grade level of you student does not allow grading. Please contact your curriculum director if you have questions about the grading policies of your district.
Q: When I'm in the Standards Screen, some of the standards do not have dropdown lists. What's wrong?A: If a standard does not have a dropdown list, that means it is not supposed to get a score. The standard is only used as a heading on the printed report cards.
Q: When I use the Standards Default Screen to set the standards of all the students in my class, it does not overwrite the student's existing standard scores. What's Wrong?A: The screen is
designed not to overwrite existing student standard scores. This is to protect the integrity of existing information in the system. You can only use the Standards Default Screen to set the scores for standards that have not already been assessed.
